By installing or using ChatGPT Reading Assistant (“CRA”, “the Extension”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

CRA is a free, open-source Chrome browser extension that enhances the reading experience on chatgpt.com by providing:

• A text selection toolbar for collecting and acting on text
• A citation clipboard for managing collected text snippets
• Quick action buttons for generating follow-up prompts

3. License

CRA is distributed under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the Extension in accordance with the license terms.

4. No Warranty

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. The authors do not guarantee that:

• The Extension will function without interruption or errors
• The Extension will be compatible with future versions of Chrome or ChatGPT
• Any defects will be corrected

5. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE EXTENSION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data or information
• Loss of productivity
• Damage to your browser or system
• Any issues arising from ChatGPT website changes

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Using the Extension in compliance with applicable laws
• Using the Extension in compliance with ChatGPT’s Terms of Service
• Backing up any important data collected through the Extension
• Keeping the Extension updated to the latest version

7. Data and Privacy

CRA does not collect, transmit, or share any user data. All data is stored locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

8. Third-Party Services

CRA operates on chatgpt.com, which is owned and operated by OpenAI. CRA is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI. Changes to ChatGPT’s website may affect CRA’s functionality.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected in this document with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the user’s jurisdiction.
