Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the Gemini Reading Assistant Chrome extension (the "Extension"), and/or by purchasing and activating a Pro license, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension and refrain from purchasing a Pro license.

2. The Extension (Free Tier)

The source code of the Extension is released under the MIT License. You may fork, modify, and redistribute the source code subject to the conditions of that license. The binary distributed via the Chrome Web Store is provided free of charge and "as is".

3. Pro License

The Pro tier is sold via Gumroad. Upon purchase you receive a license key starting with GRA-PRO-. The Extension communicates with Gumroad's licensing API to verify that your license is valid (see the Privacy Policy for details about that single network call).

• Personal use. Your Pro license is intended for your own devices. You may activate it on multiple devices that you personally own or control.
• No redistribution. You may not resell, share, or publicly distribute your license key.
• Verification. The Extension re-verifies Pro licenses silently roughly every 30 days, with a 7-day grace period. Long-term offline use may cause Pro features to deactivate until the next online re-verification.

4. Refunds

Pro purchases are processed by Gumroad and are subject to Gumroad's refund policy. As a general rule we honor refund requests made within 30 days of purchase, provided the license has not been extensively used. Please open an issue on GitHub or contact Gumroad support to initiate a refund.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the Extension, you agree to not:

• Violate the terms of service of Google Gemini or any other platform the Extension interacts with.
• Use the Extension to scrape, resell, or republish conversations belonging to others without their consent.
• Reverse-engineer the Pro license verification in order to bypass payment.
• Use the Extension in any way that is illegal or harmful.

6. Third-party services

The Extension operates on top of Google Gemini, and Pro licensing relies on Gumroad. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. The Extension is not affiliated with Google, Gemini, or Gumroad.

7. Disclaimers

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. In particular, the Extension depends on Google Gemini's page structure and network APIs, which can change without notice. Updates may be required to restore functionality.

8. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION), WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE EXTENSION OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE EXTENSION.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by bumping the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, when significant, noted in the Extension's release notes.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes should first be raised through GitHub Issues or Gumroad support before any formal legal action.
